We are looking for a Private Client Solicitor to join our growing Legal Services team.

The ideal candidate can be a trainee solicitor or a qualified solicitor, covering mainly wills, lasting powers of attorney and inheritance tax planning files. We are flexible on PQE for the right person.


Your responsibilities

Here's a bit more on what you can expect to be doing day-to-day:

  • Drafting legal documents.
  • Managing own workload of wills, lasting powers of attorney and inheritance tax planning files
  • Working on probate matters, submitting IHT paperwork to HMRC and the Probate Registry
  • Communicating with clients and third parties via email, letter and telephone.
  • Assisting paralegals and secretary in the team with queries.
  • Meeting with clients to provide advice in relation to different areas of Private Client law.
  • Liaising with colleagues internally regarding client matters.
  • Ensure the client work is progressed in a timely manner and that clients are regularly informed on progress and on costs.
  • Play a key role in business development.


About you

We think you’ll need the following experience and qualifications to succeed in

the role:

  • You have hands on wills, lasting powers of attorney and inheritance tax planning files.
  • Thorough understanding of probate matters, probate registry and IHT
  • Teamwork and critical, collaborative thinking
  • Accuracy of work and effectiveness
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Engage with formal training, including on the job training.
  • You are based in the east midlands, and can travel to Grantham, and client locations across Lincolnshire.
  • Must have a valid UK driving licence, and your own transport.
  • You will be required to be in the Grantham office every Wednesday.
