Job Advertisement: Public Protection Officer

We are seeking a skilled Public Protection Officer to join our Local Authority team, focusing on environmental protection, health & Safety, Food and statutory nuisance investigations. This role requires experience in one or more of the following areas Health and Safety/Food, noise/acoustics, statutory nuisance, air quality, or contaminated land.

Responsibilities:

• Investigate complaints and provide input on licensing and planning applications.
• Enforce regulations, respond to nuisance complaints, and manage cases related to air quality and contaminated land.
• Serve notices, attend court hearings, and lead prosecutions under the council's enforcement policy.
• Handle a multi-disciplined enforcement caseload and conduct monitoring visits, occasionally during unsociable hours.

Hybrid role based in London with home working and required site visits.

Requirements:

• Full driver's license, own vehicle, and business insurance.
• Desirable: Registered Environmental Health Practitioner or related qualification.
