Digital Sales Specialist



We’re looking for an experienced Digital Sales Specialist to join our growing Enterprise Sales team.


Reporting into the Consultant Team Leader the Digital Sales Specialist will be focused on growing our base of customers by hunting new customer opportunities, and selling our digital products and services into our existing customer base.

The Role:


  • The Digital Sales Specialist is accountable for driving sales from our catalogue of Digital products and services to new customers and existing Chess accounts, improving sales volumes by meeting and exceeding sales and revenue targets.
  • Working collaboratively with the consultancy, sales and delivery teams and account managers to identify whitespace opportunities and drive penetration of digital services in to the account base.
  • Involvement in new business and tender opportunities where our core services match customer requirements.
  • Approaching new logo customers for Chess, and onboarding them with digital services so we can build a strategic relationship as a trusted long-term technology partner of choice.
  • Taking a proactive approach, collaborating on account planning including defining an account strategy and technology roadmap, driving year-on-year sales growth expectations for Development and Support work.
  • Staying close to the delivery status and challenges of our sales as we maintain healthy relationships with client stakeholders. This will include recurring account and business review meetings.
  • Conducting digital assessments and discovery sessions with new and whitespace customers to identify opportunities where our Digital products and services will help resolve challenges in their business.

Staying up to date with our development and product/project teams and providing support from a relationship perspective.

  • Understanding Chess's competencies/accreditations with Microsoft and be able to comfortably explain what that means for our clients.



The Candidate:

  • Strong Microsoft expertise and experience of selling Microsoft based solutions such as SharePoint, Power Platform, Copilot, Azure and both professional and managed services.
  • Familiarity with AI solutions and how to introduce the benefits of adoption would be highly preferable.
  • Proven experience of working with Public Sector & Enterprise clients.
  • Have experience in putting together tailored presentations for each vertical and skilled in presenting to a face to face or virtual audience.
  • Comfortable with using LinkedIn to understand who in the organisation is best placed to answer questions around their organisations digital portfolio by targeting specific job titles - C-Suite etc.
  • Familiarity with IT contract negotiations.
  • Solid understanding of Digital Technology and its impact on business and applications.
  • Good understanding of industry specific business issues and drivers.
  • Proposal/RFP creation and leading RFP/proposal presentations.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

Salary details: Up to £45,000 dependent on experience (OTE: uncapped commission plan)

Hours: A standard week is 37½ Monday to Friday

Working location: Hybrid working position


Allowing you to enjoy the flexibility of working from home whilst also having the option to work from one of our many local hubs spread throughout the UK. Ad-hoc travel to offices within the group and other locations may be required on occasion.
