Derivatives Counsel – Top Algorithmic Trading Firm – London

The Role

We are partnered with a leading Algorithmic Trading Firm who are looking to hire a Derivatives Counsel to join their growing Legal team and derivatives business, with a focus on OTC Derivs. The ideal candidate will have experience in traditional financial markets and can easily adapt to the entrepreneurial, varied and highly dynamic nature of In-House working. In this role you will work closely with the rest of the legal team as well as with the businesses directly: with traders, business development, product, operations. You will also work on projects with the senior leadership team, such as COO, CEO, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

· Draft and negotiate agreements in relation to their derivatives offerings whilst working closely with the business and management stakeholders to develop a unique derivatives framework.

· Advise and Implement: Design solutions and implement advice in a way that is compliant and works for the company including business functions and other departments.

· Work with external advisors as required to define the regulatory requirements for crypto derivatives in various jurisdictions.

· Other legal: get involved in projects outside of OTC derivatives based on personal professional development interests and company requirements

Experience Requirements:

· Circa 3-7 years of experience practicing law (qualified) at a top-tier law firm or as in-house counsel for a firm specialized in financial services, fintech and/or crypto;

· Experience negotiating ISDA and other OTC derivatives and advising on related regulatory issues pertaining to OTC derivatives.

· Understanding of regulatory frameworks and how they apply to OTC derivatives in various jurisdictions in traditional financial markets

· Curiosity and interest to learn other areas of law and business quickly
