Position: School Safeguarding Officer

Are you passionate about student welfare and safeguarding? A secondary school in Westminster is seeking an experienced School Safeguarding Officer to join their team starting in November 2024. This is an excellent opportunity to ensure the safety and well-being of young learners in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and maintain safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Offer guidance to staff, students, and parents on safeguarding issues.
• Conduct risk assessments and identify areas of concern.
• Collaborate with external agencies, including social services and the police.
• Deliver safeguarding training for staff members.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records and attend multi-agency meetings as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience in safeguarding, ideally in a school setting.
• Strong knowledge of current safeguarding legislation and best practices.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, staff, and external partners.
• Organised, detail-oriented, and capable of making sound decisions.
• A commitment to promoting the welfare of young people.
