Job Title: Contract PE/Sports Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Job Type: Contract, 5 days week 8:30am 4pm
Daily Rate: £85 - £100 (depending on experience_
State of the Art FE college located in the London Borough of Greenwich is recruiting a long term Monday to Friday experienced PE/Sports Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to start straight away.
Ideally the successful PE/Sports Learning Support Assistant (LSA) will have a strong background in physical education and sports, with specific skills in & out of the classroom. You will have experience supporting children and young people in varied sports such as football, badminton, netball, tennis, and athletics. This role involves supporting students on a 1:1 basis as well as in small groups, helping them achieve their educational and physical development goals.
Working in a supportive and dedicated PE/Sports department you will also be open to supporting students in public services also. However this role is predominantly in the PE department.
- Must have worked in a similar position as either a PE/ Sports LSA OR PE Teaching Assistant/Learning Mentor/ Sports Coach OR Child Support Assistant etc
- You must have an enhanced DBS or able to pay for a new one immediately
- Must live in easy commutable distance to the London Borough of Greenwich
- Assisting the PE teacher in planning and delivering engaging and inclusive sports lessons.
- Strong knowledge and skills in a range of sports, including football, badminton, netball, tennis, and athletics.
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to students, helping them with physical activities and academic work related to sports education.
- Supervising and support students during practical PE sessions, ensuring safety and promoting positive behaviour.
- Assisting in setting up and maintaining sports equipment and facilities.
- Monitoring and record student progress, providing feedback to the PE teacher and other relevant staff.
- Supporting students with additional needs, adapting activities to ensure they can participate fully.
- Encouraging and motivate students to achieve their personal best in both academic and physical pursuits.
- Helping organize and supervise extracurricular sports activities, including football, badminton, netball, tennis, and athletics.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Attending relevant training sessions and meetings as required.
- Relevant qualification in physical education, sports coaching, or a related field.
- Experience working with students in an educational setting, preferably within a further education college.
