Summary

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing key accounts and negotiating contracts. This role requires a professional who has operated at a senior commercial level within a project delivery environment and has an in-depth understanding of construction law and contractual terms.


Responsibilities

  • Ensure the production of monthly cost and value reports, quarterly forecasts and company tied costs.
  • Obtain cash-flow information and ensure all reports are ready for senior review
  • Provide input to the OP business plan, and region / sector quarterly and annual results
  • Provide input to dispute identification and management
  • Advise on risk profiling and management on projects and verify NP22 implementation
  • Assist with CRS reviews and contract award vetting
  • Produce and negotiate insurance claims with insurer's representatives
  • Produce, negotiate and agree design agreements with designers
  • Agree terms and engage legal and commercial consultants, and monitor their accounts
  • Maintain contact with supply chain partners through contract vetting and input to contract documentation
  • Carry out sub-contract document vetting and input to sub-contract documentation
  • Support and when required undertake Project reviews on behalf of business assurance or internally as a 'health check'
  • Maintaining high personal safety, sustainability and quality
  • Being a leader and role model in the areas of diversity, inclusion, wellbeing and social value.
  • Ensure that Commercial forums are convened and attended by commercial and operational staff at frequent intervals
  • Provide support and promote the roll out of new procedures, processes and tools for the business
  • Ensure audits are carried out and feedback is provided to the business.
  • Provide an input to preconstruction activities
  • Provide commercial input to contacts with clients, and if necessary client's representatives
  • Provide commercial advice to the site team in connection with all project issues and provide input to region / sector commercial discussions / reviews. Take part in discussions concerning project performance and provide commercial input to project strategy.


Requirements


  • Successfully operated at senior commercial level in a project delivery environment
  • Be a member or Fellow of the CICES, RICS or CIOB
  • Understand construction law, dispute resolution and contractual terms in all standard contract forms
  • Proven ability to establish, maintain and enhance client and supply chain relationships
  • To adopt a proactive approach in the identification and implementation of value engineering and cost reduction opportunities
