Total People, one of the UK's leading apprenticeship providers and part of LTE Group, we have an exciting opportunity for talented professionals to come and join us as a Business Development Manager on a permanent, full time (37 hours per week) basis. Role will be hybrid, working both remotely and travel to customers and some travel to Northwich, Wythenshawe and Openshaw

In this role you will be responsible for the growth of new clients of Total People, which includes developing new client relationships, growing existing relationships with clients and partners, and leading on their initial experience of Total People.

You will have a strong desire to pro-actively contact and work with employers to identify their needs, to sell current products. This may require tailoring or bespoke design of programme solutions so you can achieve your sales target with corporate and key accounts across Total People's full range of products and programme areas. You will also gather intelligence on customer needs to share with other senior managers to continually improve Total Peoples product offering.

You will need to be driven, organised, and dedicated to managing a busy and demanding workload. You will have a genuine passion for the world of education, putting the client experience and their learners at the heart of everything you do. You will have an extensive understanding of Apprenticeships/Traineeships and funding methodology for ESFA/Apprenticeships, traineeships and AEB.

You will champion and embed the behaviours, values, and skills we need to successfully deliver the Total People vision, leading by example. Working to fulfil your objectives to ensure Total People reaches its sales, financial and growth targets and supports LTE group goals.

You will be able to build effective client relationships as well as the ability to network with wider colleagues within the LTE Group and external stakeholders.

In order to be successful in your application you will need to meet the following essential criteria:

  • Educated to degree level or above or experience in a similar role.
  • Proven, recent, sales experience demonstrated in a B2B sales environment, ideally from within the private training / education sector.
  • Proven recent sales skills, including closing, prospecting, sales planning, selling to customer needs, territory and account management, market knowledge, meeting sales targets.
  • Highly professional and able to maintain appropriate confidentialities.
  • To achieve KPI's set by Head of Commercial around minimum call targets and prioritising focus on appropriate sector or corporate business when required.
  • Provide a weekly schedule of planned activities which include participation in agreed promotional events: plan diary to make effective use of working day.
  • To ensure that the business is operated to the highest standards and with a professional ethos in line with the Mission, Vision and Values of Total People and the group.
  • Effective team-working: to work in a way that contributes to, and promotes, a collaborative and supportive culture within own team and across all of Total People; to build and sustain positive working relations with colleagues and other stakeholders; to pass on new information to relevant stakeholders and Total People colleagues promoting a sharing team-working environment.
  • Contribute to the Sales & Marketing Strategy.
  • To work flexibly as and when required including, where necessary, any Total People or group site, or on external premises, and to carry out other duties as may be required of you by the business from time to time.
