Job Overview:

As Head of English, you will play a key strategic leadership role, driving the department forward and shaping the learning journey for students. Your deep love for English will be reflected in your teaching and leadership, creating an environment where staff and students thrive. You will be responsible for the strategic direction and development of the English department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the English department, providing clear direction and developing a cohesive team dedicated to student success.
• Inspire a love of English across KS3 and KS4, ensuring students develop strong literacy skills and achieve excellent outcomes.
• Develop and implement a strategic vision for the department, promoting innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
• Support, mentor, and develop teachers within the department, ensuring high-quality instruction and professional growth.
• Uphold and model the school’s core values, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Ensure safeguarding remains a priority in all aspects of the department’s work, in line with school policies.
