Description
The Head of Retail Education will be responsible for working with the Global Director of Education to design, implement, and manage the learning and development strategy across the retail division. This role is pivotal in ensuring that retail employees, from entry-level to store managers, are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and customer-centric mindset necessary to deliver a world-class retail ELEMIS experience. The role will focus on enhancing product knowledge, sales skills, and leadership capabilities while fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. This role will work closely with the Head of Learning and Content to ensure the retail content is creating positive business impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with Global Education Director to develop a comprehensive global retail education strategy that aligns with company goals and supports market-specific needs.
- Customize training programs to address the unique aspects of specialty retailing, including product expertise, personalized customer service, and brand storytelling.
- Collaborate with wider teams to ensure that NPD and Treatment development is integrated into the retail education framework in a timely manner to ensure maximum sell through and business growth.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Retail and Brand Coaching Experts, ensuring they are well-versed in both global strategy and local execution.
- Continuously evaluate skill gaps and assess future educational needs to ensure that retail employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills to meet evolving customer expectations.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Deep understanding of the retail sector and specialty retailers (example Sephora).
- Strong sales and retail experience, having worked within the retail sector for at least 5 years.
- Proven track record in retail training and adult learning principles with emphasis on retail environments.
- Proficient in LMS and E-learning content.
- Beauty Therapy qualification to NVQ level 3 or equivalent, including facial and body electrical.
- Teacher training qualification highly desirable.
- Good level and standard of UK/European education or equivalent.
- Previous training experience within the industry.
