Are you a Commercial Conveyancer looking for a dynamic role where your skills can make a real impact? We're seeking a talented individual to join our Land Rights Team and help us secure land rights for essential utility infrastructure across the UK.


The Land Rights Team reports into the General Counsel and provides a service to the EA Networks division to securing land rights for utility infrastructure assets.


You will require knowledge of:


·      Land Transfers

·      Leases

·      Easements for access and pipes/cables

·      Wayleaves

·      Land Registry Searches and Registrations


Experience of undertaking this activity in the utility industry while adopting and securing rights for assets is preferred but not essential.


The Networks division continues to grow at Energy Assets. The work it does adopting utility infrastructures is part of the wider national house building programme and also contributes to the national renewables industry by providing support for the installation of EV Chargers. It is an exciting time to join Energy Assets given the future of the energy industry and the Land Rights Team will be an increasingly important part of the growth of the group overall.

In addition you will need:


·      Ability to manage (with support) your own case load

·      Good communication skills when liaising with colleagues and other stakeholders including clients

·      Willingness to work in a team or independently as required

·      Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and IT generally

What you'll be doing


  • Policy Compliance Ensure all work aligns with Energy Assets' policies, processes, and frameworks for land rights acquisition to secure assets effectively.
  • Policy and Process Oversight Develop and oversee land rights policies and procedures related to the protection and installation of Energy Assets' infrastructure.
  • Project Management Manage land rights operations within the UK, ensuring consistency and monitoring ongoing cost implications including liaison with other land rights specialists
  • External Representation Represent Energy Assets at external meetings, assist in negotiations with landowners and third parties as required.
  • Case Management Oversee and manage the department's full range of conveyancing procedures from initiation to completion for utility land rights processes related to Energy Assets Networks division


Who we're looking for


  • Conveyancing Experience Proven practical experience in conveyancing (conveyancing paralegal or equivalent, solicitor etc - qualification level is less important than appropriate experience).
  • Development A willingness to learn or develop further your understanding of land transactions in the context of assets adoption and the utilities industry
  • Collaborative Skills Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams (engineering, legal, consenting) to support project delivery.
  • Team Management Willingness to develop skills to manage a diverse team to achieve organisational goals.
