Male or Female Support Worker

NeuroSupport services are currently recruiting Support Workers and Healthcare Assistants with a background of Brain Injury and Mental health experience to support services users with an acquired Brain Injury. Our service aims to support rehabilitation and in enabling people to optimise independence and quality of life.

We are looking for psychology graduates,support Workers and Healthcare Assistants or suitable candidates who would be willing to support people both within their home environment and also willing to provide support in helping service users access the community. We are looking for candidates that are confident with working independently and providing empirical feedback where necessary.

• YOU HAVE UK WORK EXPERIENCE IN A SIMILAR ROLE
• YOUR CV CLEARLY SHOWS YOUR RELEVENT EXPERIENCE WHICH RELATES TO THE POSITION YOU ARE APPLYING FOR.
• EXPERIENCE IN BRAIN INJURY SUPPORT
• A FULL CLEAN UK DRIVERS LICENCE AND ACCESS TO A CAR YOU CAN USE FOR WORK

Job Title: Male/Female Support Worker
Location: Wem, Shrewsbury, SY4 5HN
Hourly Rate: £12.00-£14.00 per hour depending on experience.
Driver Essential? Yes
Preferences:This role is open to Male and Female applicants. MUST speak clear English due to the clients disability and MUST have brain injury experience.
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours:

Monday: 09:30am - 15:30pm (Day)

Tuesday: 09:30am - 15:30pm (Day)

Wednesday 10.30pm 9.30am (Waking Night)

Thursday 10.30pm 9.30am ( Waking Night)

Saturday or Sunday 09:30am - 22:30pm (every other week)

There are then additional shifts to help out when other team members are on holiday or unavailable.

About you-Essential Experience:

Ideally experience of working with clients with brain injury, particularly clients with cognitive impairment and behaviours that may challenge. Must be engaging and spirited. Good communication skills. Would suit those with therapy background and/or
psychology background.
Will not suit those with a standard care background .

Required activities:

- Prompting with personal care

- Medication

- Preparing meals

- Completing planned activities including shopping, taking to social activities, planning social activities

- Completing therapy programmes

- Light cleaning

- Giving feedback and challenge

- Managing dietary intake

Successful Candidates will:

• Have at least six months experience of working in a support worker role or similar, in the past three years.
• Must have a Full UK Driving License and access to your own car

• Willing to become self-employed
