Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a E&I Quality Control Inspector to be engaged on a permanent basis in the Bridgwater area.



What You'll Be Doing


As a Quality Inspector, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections according to the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
  • Coordinate with the client's representative to conduct day-to-day inspections during construction activities.
  • Ensure equipment installation complies with ECS Code, drawings, vendor specifications, and code requirements regarding materials, alignment, etc.
  • Assist the QC Manager and Area Leads in executing their duties.
  • Maintain Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs) during inspections, ensuring all required signatures are obtained on LTQRs and ITPs.
  • Update the SONIM register as needed.
  • Champion Foreign Material Exclusion to prevent the ingress or entrapment of non-specified materials, loose items, or debris in equipment and systems during assembly and testing.
  • Monitor and report compliance with quality standards and procedures for all installation, calibration, and testing processes within the electrical and instrumentation scope.
  • Recommend methods to improve overall quality and assist in analyzing quality concerns.
  • Monitor and assist construction teams in achieving quality standards.


Who We're Looking For


You will have:

  • Qualifications in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation, such as ONC / HNC / HND (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in Quality Control during the installation, inspection, and testing of electrical and instrument systems associated with process plants during construction and operation, including:
  • Motors, pumps, transformers, DBs, cabling
  • Electronic and pneumatic equipment
  • Analogue and digital control systems
  • Relay-based and solid-state logic systems
  • Transmitters, control valves, etc.
  • Knowledge of the ATEX directive, preferably with attendance in a relevant ATEX competency course.
  • A valid CSCS Card.
