Purpose of the Role:

As the covering Learning & Development Manager, your primary purpose is to lead and maintain the Retail commercial and operational training programs, ensuring their effective implementation and ongoing management. You will focus on maintaining and embedding existing tools and programs, while confidently supporting strategic initiatives when necessary.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the Retail commercial and operational training program, ensuring it meets the ongoing needs of the business and supports retail team performance.
  • Implement and maintain the strategic learning calendar aligned with business goals and evolving individual development needs, with a primary focus on operational training for Retail.
  • Proactively revamp and update purpose-fit training content that addresses emerging learning needs, using innovative and engaging learning methodologies to enhance the effectiveness of training sessions.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and anticipate the future return on investment of training initiatives by using predictive analytics and metrics to anticipate the impact of learning on individual and team performance.
  • Lead the integration of new LMS, ensuring optimisation and future enhancements to ensure continuous improvement and future accessibility.
  • Foster and maintain strategic partnerships with Heads of Department to understand future functional needs and align learning initiatives accordingly.
  • Collaborate with People and Talent Acquisition teams to align learning and development strategies with talent management and colleague development plans.
  • Oversee the D, E & I agenda, incorporating diversity and inclusion principles into training programs, ensuring that all content reflects and promotes an inclusive workplace culture.
  • Actively promote a culture of continuous learning within the organisation, encouraging colleague participation in professional development opportunities.


What You'll Need to Succeed:

Technical:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification or have comparable experience.
  • Strong background in Retail Learning & Development with extensive experience in managing and maintaining operational training programs.
  • Experience of learning psychometrics’, Insights Discovery certification desirable.
  • Experienced in developing diverse learning content and strategic program design.
  • Knowledgeable about modern learning tools and methodologies.
  • Understanding of Learning Management Systems optimisation and usage.
