Lead RF Design Engineer

We are currently searching for a Lead RF Engineer on behalf of one of our key clients in Cambridge that is going through a significant round of growth.

As the selected Lead RF Engineer, you’ll be responsible for leading and overseeing the design and development of RF circuits, antenna systems and communication systems.

This role requires a deep understanding of RF design principles and proven industry experience in a leadership role.

Key responsibilities for the role of Lead RF Design Engineer will include:

• Lead technical contact during scoping, definition, design and production phase of new product development.
• Creating clear product and system design requirements and specifications.
• Creating RF design architectures, concepts and strategies for project work packages.
• Mentoring and supporting RF design engineers.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product requirements are met.
• Driving completion of all projects to be delivered on time and within budget.
• Ensuring development processes are adhered to.

As the selected Lead RF Design Engineer, your experience should include the following

• Strong experience in RF circuit design, ideally with knowledge around communication systems such as LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or GPS.
• At least 5 years experience in a lead or principal level role
• Ability to drive technical direction within multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Able to consolidate complex requirements into clear and deliverable commitments
• Strong capability specifying technical requirements that result in “right first time” designs
• Strong understanding of product development lifecycle principals
• Proven track record of taking a lead role in delivering products into volume production
