The Group Supply Chain & Procurement department provides the Primary commercial interface between Pelsis and the supply base, developing and building strong relationships. Thus helping the business to continue to grow as the market leader in Pest Control.


The department focusses on two main activities – that being:


  • The analysis of spend, formulation of and implementation of commodity strategies and the development of contracting strategies
  • Working with the business and sites on the identification & delivery of a commodity strategy for the regions, whilst leveraging global spend in collaboration with Strategic colleagues.


Providing contract and commercial support to the global businesses and supply chain function. Collaborate with the Portfolio group on alignment of business needs into contractual frameworks.


This position is responsible for the allocated sourcing areas including strategic development of Sourcing strategies and contract support globally. Provide direction and learning to individual teams around the world, support in the development of skills and knowledge within the teams and support in the development of a talent pipeline.


Key Responsibilities


Sourcing Strategy and Planning


  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for direct and indirect commodities to meet business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify sourcing needs, market trends, and opportunities for cost savings.


Supplier Management


  • Evaluate, select, and manage suppliers to ensure the highest quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, conducting regular performance reviews and driving continuous improvement.


Negotiation and Contract Management


  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favourable terms, pricing, and conditions. Develop cohesive strategies linking business needs to customer needs to sourcing and portfolio requirements.
  • Monitor and manage contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions, as well as to identify opportunities for renegotiation and cost reduction.


Cost Optimization and Budgeting


  • Analyse cost structures and recommend cost-saving initiatives, including value engineering and alternate sourcing strategies.
  • Develop and manage budgets related to commodity sourcing activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial targets.


Risk Management


  • Identify and mitigate potential risks related to supply chain disruptions, supplier capacity, geopolitical issues, and other relevant factors.
  • Develop contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies to maintain a resilient supply chain.


Compliance and Regulations


  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies related to procurement and sourcing activities.
  • Stay informed about changes in regulations that may impact the sourcing and procurement process.


Performance Monitoring and Reporting


  • Establish / deliver / maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track supplier performance, cost savings, and other relevant metrics.
  • Generate regular reports and dashboards to communicate performance and provide insights for strategic decision-making.

This reliability helps in mitigating supply chain risks and potential disruptions, which is vital for meeting production schedules and maintaining customer satisfaction.

Candidate Requirements


  • Membership of an appropriate professional body would be advantageous
  • Significant experience in a low to medium volume manufacturing environment
  • Experience of working in and on Supply Chain & Quality Assurance
  • Six Sigma / Lean skills
  • Experience of dealing first hand with customers and suppliers
  • Demonstrated experience of problem-solving techniques, best cost country sourcing
