The Energy Division at ARM are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join a lading nuclear defence client, to be based out of Devonport, Plymouth (Nuclear)

Job Overview:

The Major Infrastructure Projects directorate provides major new or upgraded dock, berth and building infrastructure projects to provide facilities for the ship and submarine sustainment programmes.

You will be part of the Project delivery team managing NEC professional services contract for design on main dock civils work.

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be working within the Water Retaining Boundary team, helping to manage the lead design consultant for a critical civils design package. The purpose of a Senior Project Engineer is to ensure effective design and project management of sub-packages within the WRB package.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Supporting the Package Manager who is responsible for the delivery of multiple sub-packages.
  • Working closely with the technical team to ensure deliverables meet stringent quality criterium by leading sub-packages through governance processes.
  • Responsible for working with schedule, commercial, cost and risk management functions to ensure that design packages are delivered to time, cost, and quality parameters.
  • Assisting the technical and project team in the development of requirements, project scope and solutions for specific work

What do you need to succeed?

  • The candidate must have experience of project or design management, ideally within an infrastructure delivery.
  • It is preferable that the candidate will have experience managing and administering an NEC4 contract.
  • The project is located on a Nuclear Licensed site, as such, experience in delivery of nuclear safety implicated structures, equipment or services would be of desirable
  • WRB - Civils experience
  • Contract Management experience - managing and delivering, reviewing deliverables, working with the contractors to delivery on time
