Job Title: Measurement Specialist (MCosmos CMM Programmer)

About the Role

An experienced Metrologist is needed to join the UK's leading Contract Inspection and CMM Programming team. This role focuses on creating and installing MCosmos CMM programs for inspecting customer parts, both at company facilities and on customer sites across the UK and Ireland. The position also involves using and programming a range of inspection equipment to meet diverse customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop MCosmos CMM programs for customer part inspections, ensuring accuracy on dedicated equipment.
• Install inspection programs at customer sites in the UK and Ireland.
• Operate and program additional Mitutoyo inspection equipment as needed.
• Interpret and apply customer requirements, engineering drawings, and CAD models accurately.
• Visit customer sites, providing in-person technical support.
• Estimate project durations for quoting purposes.
• Develop inspection strategies and measurement programs in line with international standards.

Key Requirements

• Expertise in Metrology principles, including engineering drawings, geometric tolerancing, and CAD systems.
• Ability to work independently, managing own responsibilities and tasks.
• Knowledge of dimensional measurement equipment, including CMMs, Form Measurement Instruments (FMIs), and Vision Measurement Machines (VMMs).
• Strong mechanical understanding and manufacturing knowledge.
• Skilled in customer liaison, addressing technical support needs, and maintaining professional representation.
• Experience using company IT systems, completing records, and assisting with quotations.

Desirable Skills

• Experience in designing fixtures.
• Proficiency in IT and related systems.
