Are you a dynamic leader with a passion and proven track record in leading change and driving operational excellence? We are seeking an experienced Operations Director, to lead the Professional Services operations covering annual revenues in excess of £25m, and covering a diverse portfolio of implementation projects, and digital transformation services. The role involves providing strategic leadership, ensuring operational excellence, making informed decisions, and driving continuous improvement.

You will have a proven track record in managing large teams and complex operations, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. You'll be a strategic thinker, capable of balancing operational discipline with the need for change and innovation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Management: Lead the operations team of over 100 people, including 5 Regional Project Managers (RPMs) and 6 Consultancy Manager , ensuring alignment with business objectives. Mentor and develop the team, fostering a culture of high performance, discipline, and continuous improvement while being a change agent.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee a portfolio generating up to £25 million in revenue. Manage up to 500 projects, ensuring operational efficiency, resource allocation, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Decision-Making & Commercial Awareness: Make sound judgments under pressure, utilising your deep understanding of business operations, market dynamics, and the broader economic context to inform decisions and drive strategic thinking.
  • Customer Focus: Ensure that operational processes deliver high-quality products and services that meet or exceed the expectations and requirements of both internal and external customers. Address and resolve operational issues impacting customer satisfaction.
  • Strategic Execution: Execute the strategic plan whilst achieving or exceeding the business plan objectives, balancing rigor and discipline with the agility to drive significant change across the business over the next few years. Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure optimum performance, using data and metrics to drive improvements.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with the Service Design Team to identify and implement process improvements, enhancing efficiency, productivity, and quality. Address operational issues impacting customer satisfaction and develop corrective actions based on market trends.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Marketing, Product Design, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to ensure seamless integration of operations with business functions, supporting company-wide initiatives.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Identify potential risks in operational processes, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate documentation of operational processes and policies.

  • Experience managing a portfolio with £20-25 million in revenue, up to 500 projects, and a large team.
  • Ability to balance operational rigor with the need for change and innovation.
  • A keen eye for detail, ensuring that the numbers are right.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and drive a team towards achieving business objectives.
