Van Driver / Warehouse person

We are seeking a reliable staff member to work at our corporate clients locations in Royston
This is a varied role; (Apply online only) over a 5 day working week, Monday to Friday (30 minutes unpaid lunch)
You must be reliable, with excellent timekeeping, hardworking with attention to detail and able to work well under time pressure.

You will be driving the company van between locations, dealing with goods in, desptaching orders and general warehouse assistance, including stock taking.

Key Job Accountabilities

Deliver materials across the sites. Driving van to local satellite sites and, if required, subcontractor sites.

Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment ( forklight truck, pallet truck, roller cages etc ) and ensure that the loads are secure.

Operate tail lift and side curtains where required for loading / unloading the van

Help move and re-arrange stock within the warehouse, either by hand or with lifting equipment to maintain housekeeping strategy and warehouse management.

Ensure that movements and storage preserve integrity of delicate high-tech materials

Work with the inbound logistics team and other teams across the operaiton.

Carry out additional warehouse duties, as and when requested

Adhere to all company health and safety procedures and policies

Essential Skills

• Numeracy skills
• Good communicator as role is working with multiple departments
• General warehouse duties
• Will be working in a small team
• Must be contactable via a mobile phone
• Safety shoes must be worn at all times (which can be provided)

Essential

• Full UK manual Driving Licence (or right to drive in the UK)
• Capability to drive 3.5 tonne van and operate a tail lift
• Current counterbalance Forklift Truck licence
• Must be over 25 for insurance purposes

Preferred skills

• Warehouse and stores experience including the operation of lifting equipment, including counterbalance forklift, electric pallet stacker, pallet truck etc.
• Experience of or trained in Manual Handling would be an advantage
