Our client, leading specialist in logistics and marine operations, has an opportunity for an experienced Part-time Marine Co-ordinator / REWS (Radar Early Warning System) Operator to join their Aberdeen team on a permanent basis.
Our client's Marine Control operation is a permanently manned service to control and co-ordinate the safe and efficient movement of vessels. Reporting to the UK Marine Services Manager, the role combines Marine Co-ordination duties alongside the operation of the REWS.
The REWS Operator is the focal point for all vessel monitoring / collision risk management on behalf of clients fixed or surface installations, and any 3rd party surface installations where collision monitoring services are provided by clients. This role is also responsible for the monitoring of certain nominated subsea installations where protected points and boundaries exist.
Duties include adherence to all company and client procedures, ensuring system equipment is checked and recorded as fully operational (immediately addressing any non-conformances with the equipment providers), liaising with installation managers, emergency response representatives and relevant operational personnel.
This position is based on a 2 weeks on / 8 weeks off basis.
Experience and Qualifications
Required
Working knowledge of offshore MODU / platform & vessel operations, also GOMO, including UKCS supplements
VHF Radio Operator Certificate
Marine Certificate of Competency in a senior bridge role
or significant marine control and co-ordination experience
Current Drivers Licence
Desirable
Previous experience within a similar role
REWS operator Certificate
