Subcontract Manager
Our client is a leading engineering and maintenance provider, supporting customers across various sectors including chemical & petrochemical, nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals & biopharma, power & energy, utilities, renewables, and food & beverage markets. With extensive experience in offshore and onshore facilities, they specialise in asset management services throughout all life cycle phases from consulting, engineering, manufacturing, assembly, operations, maintenance, and decommissioning.
Position Overview:
Due to continued contract wins we have a permanent vacancy for a Subcontracts Manager to service their Gas division. You will be part of an established team running a portfolio of projects within the Gas division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work directly with subcontractors remotely, on-site, and within our office to ensure all work is completed to expected levels of quality, on time, and within budget.
- Monitor progress and performance throughout the project, raising concerns and mitigating risks to deadlines/cost schedules.
- Regularly review progress and approve risk management recommendations, ensuring the impact of risks is eliminated or significantly mitigated.
- Manage change effectively, preventing deviation from the original scope and handling any change requests.
- Drive internal and external teams (including subcontractor management) to complete tasks within the acceptance criteria.
- Ensure Health & Safety requirements are managed in conjunction with the wider SHEQ team.
- Further develop and support the current supply chain strategy to ensure access to the strongest network of subcontractors.
- Manage technical, cost, schedule, and contract baselines with good commercial acumen.
Required Experience:
- Proven track record in delivering projects with Subcontractor/Supplier Network.
- Experience authoring detailed Request for Quotations for contractual scope of supply on Automation/Automotive projects.
- Ability to establish and manage the cost, schedule, technical baselines, quality, and performance of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Demonstrated experience in Subcontract Management on major projects.
- Strong technical experience in Automation and Controls.
- Sound understanding of business, finance, and personnel management techniques and the commercial aspects of projects.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Full, clean UK driving license and willingness to travel to Client sites as required.
- NEC Contractual awareness and implementation.
Location:
This position is based predominantly in our clients office at Warrington; however, regular travel to Client sites will be required.
