Prototype Engineer
Are you an experienced Welder / Fabricator (ideally Time Served) who enjoys working in a jobbing workshop? if you have experience operating a lathe, MIG and TIG then this could be a great job for you. Operating jigs and fixtures, fabricating, welding, milling and assembling are all parts of the job so you'll have lots of variety in a dedicated jobshop enviornment.
Job Responsibilities: - You will be producing prototypes for manufacture in both sheet metal and thicker gauge materials.
- MIG / TIG, fabrication and some welding will be required.
- Reading and interpreting component and assembly technical drawings to produce prototypes within the tolerances will be required.
- Producing jigs and fixtures to aid the assembly of products in the manufacturing process.
- Work with the engineering team to produce jigs and fixtures to aid the assembly of products in the manufacturing process ensuring they are fit for function.
Preferred Skills: - Fabrication and ideally welding experience required.
- Proven background in a jobbing workshop required with experience of MIG, TIG, lathe, turning and milling.
- Operating jigs and fixtures.
Working Hours: 8.00am to 5.30pm Mon-Thurs, 8am-3pm Fri
