Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Calibre Search have been retained to find an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to join a relatively new Cost Management team in Manchester.

The practice is part of a national design architecture practice and have brought in a new Director to help head up a new PQS team now.

You will be working directly with the new Director and assist on several upcoming and secured healthcare projects across the North of England. The ideal QS will have some post degree experience (preferably within a consultancy environment).

Fantastic role for anyone looking to work directly with a MRICS PQS Director who can offer you full support with the APC and first-class exposure to managing projects from a QS point of view and the chance to be integral in helping the team grow in the long-term.

Requirements:

• Have strong communication (both written and verbal) skills and an interpersonal style that enables you to flourish in a direct client facing role
• BSc qualified in Quantity surveying (or similar degree) with previous experience (ideally) working within a consultancy environment.
• Be able to chair meetings and have the leadership skills needed to lead a project team, which may sometimes include managing conflict and resolving complex issues
• Have exceptional planning and organisation skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple demands
• Be able to work independently, make sensible judgments and decisions, and take responsibility for doing whatever it takes to get the job done.
• To assist in the management of the delivery of all pre & post contract services, comprising dealing with cost variances and associated change control processes, conducting valuation processes, carrying out cost checks, producing regular cost reports, negotiating and agreeing final accounts.
