Senior Buyer

The Opportunity

My client are a well established and privately owned manufacturing company and have been growing substantially over recent years. Their aggressive and exciting growth plan over the next 3-4 years has led to the requirement for an experienced strategic buyer to step into a Senior Buyer role. This role will be key in developing procurement strategies and leading cost saving initiatives for the business. There is a view that in time the next step will be procurement management as the company expands.

Responsibilities

• Implement procurement procedures and processes
• Develop relationships with new and existing suppliers
• Source new suppliers overseas and locally
• Analyse costs and make savings where possible
• Negotiate prices and contracts with suppliers
• Monitor supplier performance

About you

• Proficient strategic procurement experience
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Can demonstrate history of negotiation and cost savings
• CIPS Level 4 qualified + be willing to continue with funding
• In depth knowledge of strategic procurement processes
