Role Overview:

As an Associate Director, you will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of our consultancy, leading business development efforts, and overseeing the successful delivery of projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned ecological consultant with a proven track record in client management, project oversight, and team leadership.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Contribute to the development and execution of our strategic vision, identifying market opportunities and challenges to drive growth and innovation.
  • Business Development: Lead efforts to expand our client base by identifying new opportunities, building relationships, and securing new contracts and partnerships.
  • Client Management: Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded through the delivery of tailored, high-quality solutions.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior staff, fostering a collaborative culture that emphasizes excellence and professional growth.
  • Project Oversight: Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards, while proactively managing risks and client satisfaction.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide expert advice and contribute to technical reviews, assessments, and reports, maintaining advanced knowledge in ecological consulting practices.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in ecology, environmental science, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification is preferred.
  • Possession of at least two protected species licences and accreditation as an agent on a mitigation/development licence.
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in ecological consultancy, with a successful track record in project management, business development, and client relations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams and build positive client relationships.
  • In-depth expertise in ecological assessment, impact mitigation, and regulatory compliance across various sectors.
  • Active membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g., CIEEM) and a commitment to continuous professional development.
