A highly regarded, specialist provider of precision machined parts & components to the Aerospace, Defence and Automotive industry are expanding and looking for CNC Machinists, working in their CNC Turning department as a Setter Operator.
Job Profile
This position entails the operation and setup of various CNC machine tools, and to prepare materials/ tooling for upcoming tasks. Utilising engineering blueprints, the role focuses on machining precise components for clients within the Aerospace, Defence and Automotive sectors.
Duties:
- Program, Set and Operate CNC Turningmachines including 2 axis Fixed Head lathes and MillTurn (Integrex 5 axis machines).
- Change machine setting from one job to another within a set time frame.
- Ability to read and understand programs.
- Able to use micrometres, verniers and other inspection equipment to check work to drawing dimensions and validation sheets.
- Meet desired quantities, conducting in-process inspection and checking against drawings and specifications to ensure they are made accurately and to the highest standards.
- Maintaining updated records, including status/verification of work instructions (works orders).
- Employing initiative and decision making to ensure that production is safe and effective.
- Deal with technical queries where possible, as and when required.
- Support colleagues by assisting with other duties when required, to aid the smooth running of the Company.
- Work in accordance with the quality system and processes of the company.
Skills & Attributes:
- Must have CNC Turning experience, ideally able to create programs from engineering drawings, but will consider a skilled setter able to edit and amend programs, set and operate
- Mazatrol and/or Fanuc controls experience (training will be provided if needed on the Mazatrol controls).
- 3-5 years' experience in a CNC Machining role.
- Proficiency in using various measuring equipment.
- Strong mathematical and technical aptitude.
- Experience in systematic problem-solving.
- Proactive team player.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt and learn.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Effective time management skills to meet deadlines.
Hours of Work:
- 40 hours p/wk
- 07:00 15:45,Mon Thu
- 06:00 13:00,Fri
- £16.00 to £22.00 p/hr (negotiable, dependant on experience)
- OT available, paid at x1.5hrs
