Our client, a leading organisation in the IT sector, is seeking a passionate Junior Developer to join their team in London. Key Responsibilities:
  • Hands-on delivery of software working as part of a cross-functional delivery team.
  • Advocating and implementing improvements in working practices.
  • Staying aware of emerging market trends and proposing new technologies and techniques.
  • Collaborating with internal and external customers to provide a leading software development service.
  • Engaging with customers in technical requirements workshops, daily stand-ups, bi-weekly demos, and customer handovers.
  • Proactively picking up tasks to ensure project completion.
  • Delivering new customer requirements quickly, reliably, and efficiently.
  • Contributing to a continually improving Agile software development framework.
  • Liaising with Business Analysts, Developers, and QA teams to establish requirements and resolve operational issues.

Job Requirements:


Qualifications:

  • GCSE Maths and English pass level 4 and above (essential).
  • Educated to degree level (advantageous).
  • An IT qualification or certification (advantageous).
  • Microsoft Professional Qualification (advantageous).
  • Certified Scrum Master (advantageous).


Experience:

  • Understanding of programming using either Java, Microsoft technologies, web or proprietary technologies (essential).
  • Experience of working on production software applications and databases (essential).
  • Proven ability to implement designed solutions in conjunction with the broader delivery team (essential).
  • Experience of working in an agile environment (advantageous).
  • Knowledge of the general insurance or financial services industry (advantageous).


Skills:

  • Demonstrable programming and problem-solving skills (essential).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills (essential).
  • Willingness to test code and write unit tests (essential).
  • Agile delivery skills, such as Scrum or Kanban (advantageous).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft, Java, and proprietary technologies (advantageous).
