Role: Electrical Estimator Location: Wolverhampton Employment Type: Permanent Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 We are working on behalf of our client, a well-established and growing company in the electrical contracting sector, to recruit an experienced Electrical Estimator. In response to their continued growth, they are seeking an Electrical Estimator who will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely estimates, covering all stages from pre-tender to post-tender. The role plays a key part in maintaining communication with both internal and external stakeholders throughout the estimating process, ensuring the company’s commercial edge is maximised. Key Responsibilities: Maintain consistent workflow to keep operations running smoothly across the UK and Ireland. Ensure all tenders are completed accurately and in line with company procedures. Analyse actual installation times and review projects post-completion to identify any variances from budgeted costs. Collaborate with the estimating team to meet the business unit’s revenue targets by producing timely and precise estimates. Identify, share, and implement best practices across the company. Prepare each tender with structured accuracy, considering all potential construction, technical, and commercial risks. Perform detailed take-offs and input these into estimating software to ensure the prime cost of each project is well understood. Vet incoming enquiries and dispatch accurate supplier and subcontractor requests in a timely manner. Work closely with subcontractors, ensuring their quotes are compliant with specifications and relevant to the project. Offer value engineering and product substitution options when appropriate. Stay up-to-date with market trends, pricing levels, competition, and workloads to deliver competitive estimates consistently. Qualifications and Experience: Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator or relevant experience preparing electrical estimates. Knowledge of electrical installations is advantageous but not essential. Degree in Engineering or a related discipline is preferred. Familiarity with Health and Safety regulations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
