Job Requirements/Description

If you’re a communications manager with a passion for the environment, looking to join a business that is helping the UK make positive strides towards net zero, this opportunity is one for you. Take the lead in building the profile of an organisation that is well established as a provider of renewable energy, as they look to significantly expand their operations, impact and influence.

This will suit a communications generalist who thrives leading on external comms, confident working with a senior leadership team to build the profile of the brand and individuals as leaders in their field. The business is now at a stage of growth where brand building will become more relevant to future expansion plans, so this is an opportunity to make a real impact in supporting their ambition by delivering effective communication plans.

So, what will you be doing?

  • Building brand awareness through proactive PR campaigns, using media relations to become a go-to for opinions on renewable energy, and delivering engaging content through a range of channels to increase awareness and reputation.
  • Coordinating the production of promotional materials including releases, media kits, and presentations.
  • Managing and developing the communications function, including day to day management of a Communications Executive.
  • Contributing to the development of the communications strategy, turning strategic goals into tangible deliverables and plans.
  • Supporting the leadership team with communications insights and opportunities, coaching individuals to build on previous media training, and providing effective briefings / speech writing ahead of media appearances across the broadcast spectrum.
  • Initiating relevant social media strategy to engage with future talent and build employer brand, with support of the communications executive to deliver consistent social content.
  • Delivering internal communications through the company intranet including regular video content, continuing to evolve both the intranet and company website with external partners.
  • Developing collaborative relationships across the business that maximise the effectiveness of the communications strategy development and delivery.
  • Identifying opportunities for the business to lead and contribute to stories in the national and trade press.
  • This is a hybrid role offering a combination of remote working with 2-3 days per week in the Northampton offices.

And what would we like you to bring?

  • You’ll be an established communications manager with expertise in PR / external communications and ideally a breadth of experience across several comms disciplines.
  • Deep understanding of news, the media and how to manage the news agenda in a business looking to build their profile and drive opportunity to deliver the business story to new audiences.
  • A talented writer with the ability to work at pace and across a variety of projects.
  • Adaptable and thrives on change, willing to shift quickly in response to business needs.
  • An interest in environmental issues with a passion for contributing to a more sustainable future.
  • Self-motivated and happy to be relatively autonomous in a busy and varied role.

If this sounds like a great opportunity for you to build your career in communications, and you have relevant experience to bring to the role, we’d love to hear from you.
