A fantastic opportunity has arisen to become a member of the Lindström family, we are currently looking to expand our engineering team at our Workwear Laundry in Bedford and Manchester.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will work within our laundry function based in either Bedford or Manchester. This role is pivotal in ensuring minimal disruption to the laundry’s function and keeping operations running.

In this role you must be familiar with the basic idea and principles of preventative maintenance, failure monitoring, operational control and corrective maintenance. You will be required to locate faults caused by mechanical, electrical or control equipment failure utilizing maintenance manuals, operational inspections and, when needed, measuring instruments. At times you may need external maintenance service providers/contractors to help solve problems or make repair work plans.

You will be required to understand the functioning of the machine module and its water, wastewater, steam and electrical systems and how each separate part or system of the machine module contributes to the proper functioning of the machine module as a whole.

Frequently monitor maintenance indicators and take necessary action when deviations are detected. Able to use existing equipment databases or documentation to find information on spare parts, drawings, open maintenance tasks and the fault history of the equipment in question.

Follow relevant safety regulations when performing maintenance tasks and ensure that you have experience and always comply with Health & Safety.

Who are we looking for?

The right candidate will have a formal mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent standard of professional qualification and have over 3 years work experience in an equivalent position. Hot work card or equivalent. Full UK Driving Licence.
