Cnc Miller Programmer Setter Operator

CNC Miller required to work on a permanent full time basis Monday to Friday (37hours week)

Day rate - £17.50/hr to £22.62/hr overtime paid at 1.5 base rate

Night Shift - £23.25/hr to £30.08/hr overtime paid at 1.84 base rate

You must be flexible to work shift patterns, usually 2 weeks days/nights as per business requirements.

Overview

Due to a sustained increase in customer orders new opportunities for skilled CNC Millers to join a talented production team. Ideally you will be a time served CNC Machinists through a recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship, with a proven engineering background. You will have the ability operate, set and programme 3 axis / 5 axis / large gantry CNC milling machines to produce a variety of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for ensuring the machine schedule is completed within the required timescales and to the correct drawing specifications.

Work methodically through tasks whilst ensuring quality is not compromised.

Follow quality policies and procedures.

Highlight any quality or production issues to supervision.

Maintain product traceability.

Prepare and load materials on machines.

Maximise machine utilisation with minimum downtime.

Multiple machines running when requested.

Mentor apprentices and colleagues when requested.

Comply with all health and safety requirements.

Any other duties as reasonably requested by supervision, production manager or a member of the senior management team.

Experience / Skills

Time served CNC Miller.

Experience using at least one of the following Mazatrol / Heidenhain / Fanuc / Siemens controls.

Multi axis experience.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Ability to use various digital and analogue inspection equipment.

IT skills.

Offline programming experience with Alphacam would also be advantageous.
