As a Software Product Manager, you will collaborate closely with key customers to define and prioritize software enablement and optimization requirements, while crafting strategies to integrate and enhance their software ecosystems. Your role is pivotal in guiding the development, configuration, optimization, and delivery of software solutions across various market segments.
Responsibilities:
- Shape the vision and roadmap for software development, optimization, and productization.
- Develop strategies for new and existing software components to support our products.
- Gather and analyze use-cases and requirements, ensuring our software solutions meet the needs of complex systems.
- Engage with and contribute to open-source communities, highlighting opportunities for open-source software.
- Create and execute product plans to ensure successful deployment of software solutions to partners across diverse markets.
- Align software development with the lifecycle of our hardware products to deliver complete, integrated solutions.
Specific Duties:
- Assess the entire value chain, from end customers to manufacturers and system designers, ensuring productization, support, and quality assurance.
- Identify market segment needs and translate them into actionable product plans.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams and software vendors to prioritize features and enhancements.
- Promote and evangelize our software offerings within open-source communities and engage customers and sales teams through meetings and training sessions.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience in defining and managing software requirements, ideally within a software product delivery environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to align with team members, customers, and suppliers on strategic plans.
- Experience in software development (e.g., firmware, operating systems, or application development).
- Ability to work autonomously while being part of a local developer team and a globally distributed technology management team.
- Willingness to travel internationally, up to 25% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A strong academic background (or equivalent experience), preferably in a technical or numerate discipline.
- Familiarity with the full lifecycle of open-source software development, including the integration and maturity of a typical software stack.
- Experience with software product development and delivery lifecycles.
- Previous experience in Technical Product Management or Technology Marketing.
- Experience working in environments where hardware is designed, and proof-of-concept software is developed.
- Expertise in defining requirements to meet quality and optimization goals, including non-functional areas like performance and functional safety.
