Role Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Health and Social Care Teacher to deliver high-quality teaching and learning across KS4 and KS5. The successful candidate will inspire students to engage with the subject, fostering their understanding of the key principles of health, well-being, and social care. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing students progress, and preparing them for external examinations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Health and Social Care across KS4 and KS5
- Develop and implement schemes of work that meet the curriculum standards and the needs of all learners
- Monitor and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback to ensure academic improvement
- Prepare students for assessments, including coursework and examinations, to ensure successful outcomes
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages personal growth and academic success
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the wider life of the school
- Maintain accurate records of students progress and contribute to reports for parents and guardians
- Support students in their career aspirations, offering guidance on pathways in health and social care
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Have experience teaching Health and Social Care at KS4 and KS5 level
- Possess strong subject knowledge and a passion for Health and Social Care
- Be committed to raising standards of teaching and learning in the subject
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Be highly organised, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrate a commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students
