Our client is one of the largest privately owned plant hire companies in the North of England with 8 depots. Established over 70 years ago, it provides a complete hire and sales service for a wide range of Construction Plant, Tools, Excavator Attachments and Secure Site Accommodation. They are now looking for a Hire & Trade Counter Controller for their Huddersfield Depot.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answering the phone and responding to emails/messages
- Negotiating with customers over rates, deposits, transport, damages & disputes.
- Helping, giving advice, solving problems, and building relationships
- Processing orders on our computer system and general administration, including Hire Contracts, Transport notes, damage charges, and workshop job sheets.
- Monitoring stock levels and organising equipment transfers from other depots.
- Organising deliveries and collections into driver schedules/runs
- Dealing with customers at the trade counter
The Candidate:
- You must have experience of working at a construction hire company
- You must have experience of working either within hire control or trade counter sales
- Have a proven track record of providing great customer service
- The enthusiasm to learn about our business and range of equipment we supply.
- The ability to multi-task, working quickly and accurately under pressure
- A good level of numeracy, literacy, and IT skill
