Hire Controller

Our client is one of the largest privately owned plant hire companies in the North of England with 8 depots. Established over 70 years ago, it provides a complete hire and sales service for a wide range of Construction Plant, Tools, Excavator Attachments and Secure Site Accommodation. They are now looking for a Hire & Trade Counter Controller for their Huddersfield Depot.

Key Responsibilities:

• Answering the phone and responding to emails/messages
• Negotiating with customers over rates, deposits, transport, damages & disputes.
• Helping, giving advice, solving problems, and building relationships
• Processing orders on our computer system and general administration, including Hire Contracts, Transport notes, damage charges, and workshop job sheets.
• Monitoring stock levels and organising equipment transfers from other depots.
• Organising deliveries and collections into driver schedules/runs
• Dealing with customers at the trade counter

The Candidate:

• You must have experience of working at a construction hire company
• You must have experience of working either within hire control or trade counter sales
• Have a proven track record of providing great customer service
• The enthusiasm to learn about our business and range of equipment we supply.
• The ability to multi-task, working quickly and accurately under pressure
• A good level of numeracy, literacy, and IT skill
