Job Description:

They are seeking 5 x Mechanical Design Engineers to join the design team. The ideal candidate will have experience in Part 21J to integrate into our team producing mechanical design data for aircraft modifications and repairs.


Responsibilities:

  • Create design schemes and proposals meeting customer and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare CAD models and drawings using 3D CAD software
  • Produce detailed mechanical designs
  • Liaise with production and installation departments
  • Conduct technical surveys and 3D scanning on aircraft
  • Prepare design documentation
  • Maintain awareness of current aeronautical practices
  • Engage in continued professional development
  • Represent the Design Organisation Approval (DOA) to customers and Authorities


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working on EASA / CAA / Part 21J Design work
  • Background in areas such as sheet metal structures, machined components, basic mechanism design, cabin interiors, cabin monuments, avionics installations, and HEMS / Air Ambulance
  • Team player able to work under pressure on multiple tasks
  • Ability to conduct technical surveys on aircraft
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in 3D modelling and drafting to BS 8888 and company standards
  • Reliability and willingness to take responsibility for tasks


Advantageous Qualifications:

  • Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
  • Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • Experience with 3D CAD software (specific software experience may be considered)

  • Hybrid working (2 days per week on site minimum)


Working Hours:

  • 40 Hours per week – Flexible hours
  • Overtime available paid at time and a half

  • Fixed Term Contract - 8-12 months, with potential to become permanent
