We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Head of Safeguarding and Pastoral Support – initially based at our Wythenshawe Campus on a permanent, full time (35 hours per week) basis.
The purpose of the role is to provide effective management and leadership of statutory safeguarding (in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (2024) and the development, planning, delivery and monitoring of student support and experience.
As a key member of the College Management Team and one of a team of Heads of Department within your area, you will report to the Assistant Principal or Director in the management and operation of the Department. You will be required to deliver high quality, student focused support to meet statutory requirements, internal and external standards. You will be responsible for the direct line management of safeguarding and pastoral support staff ensure delivery of outstanding quality focused education and support. You will work with the Assistant Principal or Director of to effectively manage and deploy budgets and resources. Your role will include the collection, analysis and reporting of data.
This role will fulfill the Designated Safeguarding Person (DSP) role under the supervision and direction of the Assistant Principal.
You will lead on Positive Behaviour and Disciplinary within a student support capacity, ensuring Policy and Procedures are followed.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the welfare and support needs of Care Experienced young people meet statutory expectations and guidance.
