Aspire People are currently recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant based in Oadby and Wigston and surrounding areas.
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team. You will work across year groups supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis, ensuring they receive the tailored support they need to thrive in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support to pupils with SEN across various year groups
Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
Support classroom teachers in managing behaviour and developing strategies to enhance learning
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
Encourage pupil independence and confidence in learning
Monitor and track pupil progress, reporting to the SENCO and teaching staff
Work closely with teachers and external professionals to support the child's development
Ensure the safety and welfare of the children in your care at all times
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly in a 1:1 capacity
Ability to work across multiple year groups and adapt to different learning needs
A passion for helping children reach their full potential
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with both pupils and staff
Relevant qualifications or certifications in education or SEN support are advantageous but not essential
