Cost Engineer / Senior Cost Engineer

Location: London or Birmingham

Cost Engineers play a crucial role in supporting significant projects and organizations by delivering precise and prompt information on performance in relation to the project baselines. In this position, you will be responsible for managing cost performance reporting for the project, including all Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics associated with critical project commitments and expenditures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement data structures for cost control to ensure accurate tracking and monitoring of actual costs.
• Set up and define the project control budget in alignment with established baselines.
• Monitor internal and external costs against the established cost control frameworks.
• Manage project accruals and commitments to ensure they remain within budget constraints.
• Develop project forecasts, including Estimated Costs to Complete (ETC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC).
• Provide timely and precise reporting on all project metrics, including Earned Value Management.
• Track project contingency funds and exposures linked to identified risks and any remaining uncertainties.
• Oversee project change control processes to ensure consistency with agreed baselines and control frameworks.
• Monitor key project trends to provide insights that may inform future change controls.
