Class 3 Building Control Surveyor

MMP Consultancy is seeking a Class 3 Registered Senior Building Control Surveyor on behalf of a Local Authority based in West London. This is a hybrid role that combines office work with on-site inspections, offering a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in building control for a range of diverse construction projects.

This is initially a 3-month contract subject to very likely extension. The working hours are 9 - 5, Monday to Friday, at 36 hours per week. The rate of pay is negotiable, will be inside of IR35 on a day rate circa 500pd.

Key Responsibilities:
Review construction plans for regulatory compliance.
Conduct on-site inspections, ensuring adherence to building regulations.
Provide expert advice via phone, email, and in person.
Inspect and assess dangerous structures during regular working hours.
Participate in the out-of-hours dangerous structures rota.
Keep accurate records of inspections and communications.
Assist in the training and mentorship of Trainee and Assistant Surveyors.
Support the Principal Surveyor and Head of Building Control with team tasks.

Essential Requirements:
Degree in construction or an equivalent qualification.
Class 3 Building Control Surveyor Registration (BSR).
Full membership with a professional body such as RICS, CABE, or CIOB.
At least 7 years of experience in Building Control.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Self-motivated, with a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
