Cook (weekdays daytime hours)

Elizabeth House is a charity that runs a Day Centre for independent senior citizens. It is a warm and friendly place with a vibrant atmosphere. The Day Centre is open to members from 9.30 to 3.30 Monday to Friday every week excluding Bank Holidays and excluding the period between Christmas Day and New Year.

We are looking for acook to work 9.30 -1.30 5 days a weekto produce a nutritious2 course lunch(main course and dessert).

The role requires advance planning of the meals, ordering supplies, maintaining food storage according to protocols, preparation, cooking and serving of meals. Assistance in the kitchen is provided by volunteers who will be managed by the cook. A Level 2 Food Hygiene and Safety in Catering qualification is essential. On a typical day the cook should expect tocater for 25 members, some of whom have food intolerances which requires flexible meal planning.

Having access to a car is essential.
