AUTOMATION ENGINEER WAKEFIELD Manufacturing £55-60k

A thriving and well known manufacturing organisation with sites across the UK and EU is seeking an Automation Engineer to help with their increasing commitment to innovation and efficiency across the operation.
THE ROLE:
As the newly appointed Automation Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in optimising the manufacturing processes, working closely with cross-functional teams to improve, implement, and maintain automation systems. You will contribute to increased production efficiency, better asset availability and trends within breakdowns, as well as maintaining safety and quality.
Key Accountability:

  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to identify automation needs.
  • Develop and commission automation solutions for production lines.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain existing automation systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Provide technical support to colleagues and operators.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.

ABOUT YOU:
  • You will hold a HNC/ HND or similar in Engineering Electrical and/or Automation Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • A degree level engineering qualification would be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or similar).
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA systems.
  • Knowledge of robotics, sensors, and vision systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • The right to work in the UK without expiry
