Newly Qualified Solicitor – Private Client

Job Description:
We are seeking a Newly Qualified Solicitor to join our client's highly regarded Private Client team in Buckinghamshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and driven individual to develop their legal career in a supportive and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a varied caseload of private client matters, including wills, probate, estate planning, lasting powers of attorney, trusts, and inheritance tax planning.
- Provide high-quality legal advice to individuals, families, and trustees on all aspects of private client work.
- Draft and review legal documents such as wills, trust deeds, and probate applications.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and legislation.
- Maintain and build strong client relationships, providing excellent customer service.
- Assist with the administration of estates, including obtaining grants of probate and dealing with HMRC inheritance tax issues.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to provide a comprehensive service to clients.
- Attend client meetings and contribute to business development activities within the firm.
Requirements:
- Qualified solicitor in England and Wales
- PQE +3 years
- Experience in private client work, gained during training or post-qualification.
- Strong drafting and organisational skills with an eye for detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- A client-focused approach with the ability to provide compassionate and tailored advice.
- Familiarity with the use of case management systems and a willingness to adopt new technology.
Desirable:
- STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) qualification or working towards STEP accreditation.
- Knowledge of tax planning and trust administration.
- Experience in contentious probate matters.
