Ideally, the suitable candidate will already be familiar with solar farms and BESS construction, O&M, and the key components of an operational solar park, supported by strong communication, reporting, and presentation skills - because this job requires a combination of back-office analysis and site visits.

1. At the office, the employee will be supervising O&M contractors based on site visit reports; contrasting them with the O&M reports and the back-office assessment. In the case of breaches or defects, the employee will conduct regular site visits to spot, report, and propose changes. Above all, the following items should be covered by the role:

  • Monitoring and reporting on the progress of any project managed by the candidate, ensuring regular updates are provided to both the client and the candidate's QE line manager. These reports will mainly be created and updated via MS Excel, utilizing, among other features: pivot tables, filtering, graphs, trend lines, degradation colours, the use of formulas, etc.
  • Participating in regular meetings with O&Ms, clients, and QE teams, to ensure the alignment of objectives and effective communication between all stakeholders.
  • Providing technical support for other members of the QE Technical Asset Management team by addressing their queries/requests for projects managed by the candidate, or reviewing the correct execution of the works performed by the O&Ms (preventive/corrective/extraordinary), or any other standard PV problem.
  • Coordinating with the contractor and subcontractors regarding the implementation of H&S measures established by the advisors in line with national regulations and industry standards.
  • Managing any mandatory inspections of the electrical installation, required by the authorities.
  • Liaising with contractors to follow up the completion of punch lists arising from contractual tests (e.g. PAC, IAC, FAC).

2. Regarding site visits, the role requires regular scheduled and un-scheduled visits, to be carried out on foot in order to fully inspect the plants. The candidate should be able to provide proof of previous experience performing the following tasks:

  • The ability to carry out high-quality site inspections with an in-depth focus on key components - both electrical and mechanical - to maintain full production and generating capacity.
  • Due diligence and a methodical approach to identify any potential weakness which may lead to loss of generation or premature failure.
  • Verification of AC / DC test results.
  • Ability to read and understand SLDs.

What we offer in return:

  • The opportunity to become part of an international company experiencing strong growth.
  • Office equipment for home-working.
  • Permanent internal training.
  • An innovative approach to all internal processes and business.
  • Work with the latest technologies.
  • Positive and fresh working atmosphere.
Requirements

The candidate should be accustomed to working within the scope of the following regulations, or ideally have training accreditation in some of them:

  • Electrical testing and inspection to C&G 2391-52 or equivalent.
  • BS7671 electrical regulations (18th edition).
  • High Voltage OP 40 / AP 15 or equivalent.
  • BSEN 62446.

In terms of H&S, the candidate should have H&S knowledge within the operational renewables industry; it will also be an advantage to have professional HSE qualifications or recognitions (i.e. IOSH training or certification, etc.).

  • A Bachelor's degree in Energy or Electrical Engineering, equivalent to 2:1 or higher.
  • Post-graduate qualification in a relevant field.
