We are seeking a talented Electrical & Electronic (EE) Test Engineer to join our team in Cranfield. In this role, you will support the EE Test team with:
- Managing electrical function, performance, and reliability tests for various Body Electronics systems and CAN architecture/network testing.
- Leading concern identification to root cause investigation, including countermeasure recommendations.
- Supporting design departments to ensure the quality of component testing.
- Creating test plans to meet project and design milestones.
- Developing testing procedures, confirming vehicle specifications, and arranging test parts and vehicle transportation as required.
- Coordinating overall vehicle test technical activities as a project leader.
- Formally reporting test results to design sections and upper management.
- Prioritizing and multitasking between multiple projects simultaneously.
- Providing technical support to the production plant and test house when necessary.
- Supporting field investigations for responsible systems.
- Managing suppliers as needed.
Assumptions:
- Relevant experience in automotive electrical and electronic system development, having completed at least two vehicle developments or equivalent experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel abroad, typically for a few days to 2 weeks, but occasionally for up to 10 weeks and/or at short notice.
- Proficiency with PC applications, including Microsoft Excel and Project.
- Self-motivated, self-managing, proactive, and flexible regarding working practices and hours.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask between multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications, Skills, and Training Requirements:
- Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Working knowledge of Nissan, Renault, and Mitsubishi electrical architecture.
- Understanding of electrical theory and the operation of electronic devices.
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of electromagnetics.
- Understanding of component and vehicle EMC test requirements.
- Fluent written and verbal English language capability.
- Experience in risk assessment of electrical design and generation of test plans.
- Understanding of network communications and multiple bus principles (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
- Ability to follow system circuit diagrams and identify electrical connections.
- Practical experience in problem-solving tools and techniques.
- Proficiency with digital oscilloscopes, network, and RF measurement equipment.
