Position: Manufacturing Engineer


Reports to: Process Engineering Manager


Role Overview: Based at our site in High Carr the Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising manufacturing processes and systems. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve product quality, reduce costs and enhance production efficiency. The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:


Key Accountabilities:

  • Management of ERP manufacturing master data, process, and system maintenance.
  • Realization of advanced manufacturing processes and technologies including robotics and automation.
  • Project leadership and management of business improvement projects and installations.
  • Time study and process improvements through standard work and maintenance of ERP system data to ensure planning and manufacturing accuracy and efficiency.
  • Optimize EP master data to accurately reflect manufacturing process.
  • Business improvement ideas generation.
  • Lean Principles Champion in conjunction with Lean Specialist.
  • Project Management, Gantt chart and Gateway review and relevant contractor management.
  • CX preparation and submission and management.
  • Conceptualisation, development, and installation of automation.
  • Technical support of project & NPI implementations.


Associated Responsibilities:

  • Support of all engineering related activities as required.
  • Provision of works instructions, training material etc as per all new or modified processes.
  • Process trouble shooting / Development– ERP system and production.
  • Other projects as defined appropriate including CRH based projects and initiatives.


Experience and Training:

  • Candidates must be technically advanced with the ability to manage complexity, communicate effectively and work collaboratively.
  • Experience in use of ERP systems.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • High level IT skills including proficiency in full MS Office suite, Adobe Pro, Advanced Excel an understanding of, and ability to utilise, digital communications tools such as email and intranets.
  • Knowledge of Value Stream Mapping.


Essential Criteria:

  • Candidates must be educated in an engineering discipline, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering preferable.
  • In depth experience within a manufacturing/industrial engineering role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
