SEN Teaching Assistant ASD Experienced

Location: Newcastle

Salary: £75 - £100 per Day

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time

GSL Education is looking to hire a SEN Teaching Assistant ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) experienced for a client school in Newcastle. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and energetic individual with a proven history of helping to raise student achievement.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant ASD Experienced, you will join a committed team dedicated to creating a nurturing and supportive environment where all students can thrive. Your role will be instrumental in assisting students to reach their full potential and develop vital life skills.

Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant ASD Experienced (Autism Spectrum Disorder) include:

  • Supporting students with ASD in both their academic and social development.
  • Collaborating with the class teacher to implement tailored learning plans.
  • Assisting in the preparation of classroom resources and materials.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and providing emotional support to students.
  • Monitoring student progress and reporting to teachers and parents.
  • Promoting independence and fostering social interaction among students.

Essential requirements for the SEN Teaching Assistant ASD Experienced role include:

  • Experience working with children with ASD or in a similar SEN role.
  • A calm, understanding approach to managing challenging behaviours.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs (SEN) are desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one immediately.
