Our aim is to become a market leader in the provision of Electric Vehicle charging solutions to Local Authorities and Businesses as part of our strategy to lead the transition to zero carbon.


The goal is to undertake an ambitious electric vehicle charging installation program, deploying high volume and quality EV installations across the nation. Our aim is to make the world a better place, one charge point at a time.


The Bid Manager will work within Zest’s sales team to ensure successful bid responses to proposals and tenders. They will support the end to end bid process, write and submit compelling bids, and work with multiple stakeholders across the business.


Key Accountabilities


The role is responsible for the following:

  • Manage and co-ordinate all bid activity, ensuring bids are submitted on time and in line with the bid cycle
  • Manage and contribute to the bid qualification (bid/no bid decision) process for new opportunities to ensure bids are in line with business strategy
  • Assemble and manage virtual bid teams comprising a variety of stakeholders from across the business to prepare a winning bid, including identification of value proposition
  • Lead, manage and motivate multi-functional stakeholders in line with bid timeframes
  • Develop and manage the bid management plan whilst maintaining responsibility for quality and consistency
  • Produce high scoring proposal content that clearly articulates the benefits of our solution to meet specific client needs, which answer specific tender questions and are in line with guidance provided in the tender scoring matrix, or in line with market best practice where not provided
  • Ensuring all bid management tools are used to support the production of comprehensive, timely bids
  • Providing regular updates on bids currently in progress to the Head of Bid and CDO as required
  • Supporting the Bid Writers with their submissions, including help with storyboarding and providing feedback on written quality responses as required
  • Supporting the Head of Bid with training and development of the Bid team, in line with wider strategic goals
  • Writing and checking drafts for clarity, grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure and formatting, and confirming that the response answers the question asked.
  • Attending business review meetings, including quarterly market review meetings
  • Engaging with other sales team members and the wider business to ensure thorough and compelling bids are written and submitted
  • Working with the Head of Bid to manage resources and timelines to ensure early identification of potential conflicts with bid timetables
  • Supporting the Head of Bid with reporting on key metrics and targets
  • Communicating any issues and partnering with other team members to address any issues ahead of time
  • Ensure all bids are progressed in line with appropriate governance processes
  • Plus, any other duties as required by the leadership team
