We are currently recruiting on behalf of a social housing organisation based in Kent who are looking for an experienced Income Officer to join the team on an interim 3-5 months basis.
The role is full time, 37 hours per week, office based (but with excellent transport links). This role carries an essential requirement that the successful candidate is fully able to fully utilise the Capita Open Housing or Capita One Housing systems.
Day to day duties will include:
- Responsible for income collection and delivering a comprehensive customer centred debt recovery service
- Support the Housing Finance Team, being the first point of contact for residents, contractors and others to ensure debt recovery is maximised
- Work proactively to prevent and reduce rent arrears, supporting tenants in financial difficulty by providing guidance and signposting them to available resources
- Monitor rent accounts and take timely action to recover rent arrears in line with the organisations policies and procedures
- Contact tenants through various channels (phone, letters, email, face-to-face) to discuss rent arrears and agree on realistic repayment arrangements
- Address complex rent arrears cases and provide financial support & advice to tenants
- Identify tenants experiencing financial hardship and work with them to prevent arrears from escalating
- Offer guidance on welfare benefits, budgeting, and money management, and refer tenants to external support services where appropriate
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all actions taken, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations
- Manage case files in accordance with organisations income recovery policies and adhere to relevant legislation
It is essential that candidates have a basic DBS and have used Capita Open Housing as this will be tested at interviews
