Business Intelligence Manager – UK&I


This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in the development of our Business Intelligence strategies for the UK and Ireland.


Reporting to the Commercial Finance Director – UK&I and working closely with colleagues in Finance, you will take responsibility for the development of an overarching strategy and governance model for all business reporting across all function areas to produce rich, valuable and insightful management information at the right time, to the right audience.


You will be regarded as an expert in the use of data analytics, with high levels of proficiency in MS Excel & PowerBI.


You will be responsible for ensuring information reporting is reliable, analysis and interpretation is available and that internal and external deadlines are consistently met in a timely manner, with improving data quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Adopt a strong governance framework to ensure reporting is undertaken through recognised channels, removing duplication of activity
  • To assess new reporting requirements across the business to determine the value, identify existing options and create new reporting where appropriate
  • Understand the changing landscape of BI, and remain abreast of macro level developments in this key area, introducing new techniques and technologies to the business as required
  • Work with the OCS data team to identify appropriate sources of data which will be used for reporting capabilities
  • To ensure the production of reports, dashboards, and insight production
  • Collaborate with the organisation to analyse metrics, access the effectiveness of key programmes and initiatives and to locate new process improvement opportunities. Being able to make recommendations to business areas based on data analysis.
  • To lead on engagement with the IT department to ensure the technology behind the BI tools is fit for purpose and secure.
  • Map data needs to operational questions, working closely with management to prioritise business and information needs.
  • Support with troubleshooting data quality issues within the organisation, ensuring the issues are effectively problem managed and an appropriate solution is found to the originating cause.

  • Excellent communicator of detail in a clear and concise way to all stakeholders


Essential:

  • Must have the ability to produce PowerBI reports with an understanding of the ETL framework
  • Must be proficient with Excel, (advanced)
  • DAX (intermediate)


Desirable:

  • M Query and SQL
